Our Philosophy
"We lovingly nurture every child's natural development through our shared values of love, family, courage and spirituality.
We treasure the joy of creating authentic connections with the children, enabling them to be free and safe to express their inherent creativity and imagination"
Our Philosophy has been shaped over the years by our educators, families and children along with contemporary early childhood education philosophies. Our centres weave together these different perpectives to deliver a service that is unique and tailored allowing us to truly get to know the children and families within our care.

Our Philosophy Is Inspired By Rudolph Steiner
We place a strong emphasis on incorporating the Steiner philosophy in its approach to childcare. Steiner education focuses on developing the whole child, including their physical, emotional, and intellectual needs. This approach emphasizes nurturing the child’s creativity, imagination, and social development, in addition to academic learning. Our childcare centre incorporates these philosophies by providing a warm, home-like environment that encourages exploration, play-based learning, and the development of practical life skills.
At Panania Childcare Centre, we believe in providing a nurturing and supportive environment that fosters the holistic development of each child in our care. Our philosophy is inspired by the Steiner philosophy, which emphasizes the importance of play-based learning, creative expression, and a connection with nature.
“The child who lives in such an atmosphere of love and warmth, and who has around him really good examples for his imitation is living in his right element”
- Rudolf Steiner
This quote underpins our approach to child development, which recognizes the importance of nurturing a child’s physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual well-being.
One of the key aspects of the Steiner philosophy that we incorporate into our program is the importance of play-based learning. Steiner believed that children learn best through imaginative play, and that the teacher’s role is to facilitate this process. At our centre, we provide an environment that encourages children to explore and experiment, to use their imaginations, and to engage in creative expression through art, music, and movement.
We also place a strong emphasis on developing a connection with nature. Steiner believed that spending time in nature is essential for a child’s healthy development, and we agree. Our centre is designed to provide a natural and nurturing environment, with outdoor play spaces, gardens, and natural materials that inspire children to explore, connect with the natural world, and develop a sense of wonder and curiosity.
“Receive the children in reverence, educate them in love, and let them go forth in freedom”
- Rudolf Steiner
